This page is dedicated to buildings and devices Christopher has worked on.  Some are very detailed and built to last, others are made from materials we had and built as fast as possible.  One great thing about animals is they don't care what their houses look like.  Check out the products that are for sale at www.kranzman.com.

Raised bed cold frame for our strawberries

Raised Beds and Cold Frames

Picture
4ft x 8ft raised bed with mitered corners and carriage bolts.
The cold frames saved our greens and strawberries from last week's hailstorm.  We have been eating salads out of the cold frame for weeks and the strawberries are already covered with flowers.

Backyard Chicken House for two chickens
This is the milk barn I built.  It is 16x12.  Half of it is milk room with a 160 gallon bulk tank.  The other half has two head gates for the cows.

Chicken house built from big square bales of rained on hay.  Passive solar design.

Tin roof on 2x6's that are stuck under the bale strings to hold the roof down.

Automatic water I built out of 50 gallon blue barrels with a ground heat tube so no electricity needed.  The fill valve is submerged  in the bottom so even if the top freezes the valve is fine.

15 gallon milk cooling tank

Picture

This is a project I am working on.  It is hard to cool a gallon of milk in our 150 gallon tank, and the smallest I've ever seen is 70 gallons.  So I figured I'd make my own.  It still needs work but I've made good progress
